The White Cliffs of Dover

Dover

Although Dover is best known as the main port for ferries to France, the town has much more to offer.

The White Cliffs of Dover

The White Cliffs of Dover are not only a National Treasure but an important historical site overlooking the English Channel, facing the Strait of Dover and France. The cliffs that reach up to 350 feet high are managed by the National Trust. The cliffs can be seen from miles around due to their distinctive colour which comes from their composition of chalk and black flint.
